The purpose of the PSG is to engage, connect and support the Alcuin community of parents and staff through social events, school events and fundraising activities. We welcome the help of parents and extended family – there are many ways to get involved, such as coaching sports, volunteer drivers, class presentations, used uniform sales, becoming a PSG Director or Class Ambassador, baking for the Community Cultural Lunch, helping at the Pancake Breakfast, assisting with grant applications, decorating for the Winter Holidays! If you would like to get involved with the PSG, please speak with your class ambassador or email us at: psg@stalcuincollege.com

“Alcuin holds a special place in my heart – we have felt so welcomed and supported by the teachers, staff and families in so many ways. The educational experience for our children has been truly unique, but the community is what makes it even more special. I wanted to give back and help to support and strengthen the Alcuin community for our children and the generations to come.”
~ Tracy
“I joined the Board of the PSG because I believe that a strong community of support is essential for the success of our schools. For a community to truly thrive, it is vital that individuals actively engage in shaping its direction. The school community plays a significant role in influencing the reputation, image, and character of both the school and its students and so I feel it is important that we each take responsibility to ensure that our community reflects our shared values. By participating in the PSG, I aim to contribute to this collective effort and help create a positive and supportive atmosphere for our children and the school community.”
– Shubha
“Alcuin is such a special place for my children, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to help build up the Alcuin family community in return. It has been a very rewarding experience as I am genuinely excited to connect with other parents and to know we are also supporting those who support our children.”
~ Karen
We aim to continue to build on the strength of the Alcuin parent community and to support the staff at Alcuin with events and activities including social events for class parents and families, the Welcome Back BBQ, Pancake Breakfast, Annual Fundraising Gala and Community Cultural Lunch! We also aim to fundraise and make grant applications to support the students’ extra-curricular activities.

The PSG Board of Directors also meet monthly – please speak to your Class Ambassador or one of the other PSG Board Directors if you have anything you would like us to review at our meetings. We will also hold two meetings during the school year to which all parents are invited. The provisional date for the next meeting is: Wednesday 5th March 2025 at 7 pm at Alcuin College.
The PSG manages an inventory of pre-loved uniform items, and we hold regular sales at the school – check out the Alcuin Events calendar for upcoming sale dates. Our awesome used uniform coordinator Jenny also keeps an updated list of inventory so you can check out what is on hand before coming along to a sale! Check out the used uniform inventory on our Parent Login webpage. If you have any used uniform items in good condition that you would like to donate you can drop them with Cherine at the front desk, or email psg@stalcuincollege.com.
Our wonderful Karine has made it her mission to ensure that lost items make their way home. Karine regularly sorts, numbers and photographs the lost items – you can check out the google drive on our Parent Login webpage.
