Alcuin College strives to be a place where every student belongs. Alcuin College understands that a community is enriched when many different voices, viewpoints, backgrounds and identities are engaged and valued. This is achieved by living our core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, and compassion. The school respects, affirms and protects the worth and dignity of all persons.
Welcome to Alcuin’s JEDI Committee! Our dedicated team this year comprises Ms Holtorf, Ms Korajian, Ms McFadden, Ms O’Byrne, Mrs McPhail, Ms Winter, and Mrs Ablett. Together, we represent the entire staff and share a profound commitment to fostering a safe space for our students. We strive to create an environment where students feel empowered to advocate for themselves and address injustices, both locally and globally.
Our multi-faceted approach involves educating students, supporting professional development for staff, and actively engaging with our families. This year, we are thrilled to introduce our Inclusion Calendar initiative as part of our ongoing commitment to cultivating a safe and inclusive atmosphere for every student at Alcuin. The Inclusion Calendar is a significant addition to our efforts, offering a structured plan of learning, acceptance, and celebration throughout the academic year. Our goal is to ensure that every student feels not only accepted but also valued and understood, embracing the rich diversity within our school community.
We invite you to reach out to us with your thoughts, questions, or concerns. Your input is invaluable, and through caring discussions, we aim to strengthen our school community together. Racism, injustice, and discrimination have no place here, and we want everyone to feel safe and empowered to share their concerns. With ongoing dialogue and education, we can make meaningful progress. Thank you for being a part of our commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion at Alcuin College.
