COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER PARENTS (PSG)

Welcome to our Parent Support Group! 

The purpose of the PSG is to engage, connect and support the Alcuin community of parents and staff through social events, school events and fundraising activities. We welcome the help of parents and extended family – there are many ways to get involved, such as coaching sports, volunteer drivers, class presentations, used uniform sales, becoming a PSG Director or Class Ambassador, baking for the Community Cultural Lunch, helping at the Pancake Breakfast, assisting with grant applications, decorating for the Winter Holidays! I joined the Board of the Parent Support Group (PSG) because I believe that a strong community of support is essential for the success of our schools. For a community to truly thrive, it is vital that individuals actively engage in shaping its direction. The school community plays a significant role in influencing the reputation, image, and character of both the school and its students and so I feel it is important that we each take responsibility to ensure that our community reflects our shared values. By participating in the PSG, I aim to contribute to this collective effort and help create a positive and supportive atmosphere for our children and the school community.

Plans for the year…

During the year, we hope to continue to strengthen the parent community at Alcuin and to support the staff at Alcuin with events and activities including social events for class parents and families, the Welcome Back BBQ, Pancake Breakfast, Annual Fundraising Gala, Community Cultural Lunch and to fundraise for a school bus! The PSG Board of Directors will meet monthly. Please speak to your Class Ambassador or one of the other PSG Board Directors if you have anything you would like us to review at our meetings.

We will also hold two meetings during the school year to which all parents are invited. The provisional dates for these meetings are:

Thursday 3rd October 2024 at 7 p.m. at Alcuin College Wednesday 5th March 2025 at 7 p.m. at Alcuin College

A note about Used Uniforms…

If you’re in need of any uniform items, please come along to one of our regular used uniform sales – check the Alcuin events calendar for the next date! If you have any used uniform items in good condition that you would like to donate, please contact psg@stalcuincollege.com. Note that we can only accept ‘Alcuin’ branded items; we cannot accept khaki pants, joggers etc.
