SARAH Class of 2020  ALISHA Class of 2022
From the first day and throughout our 8 years in the community, Alcuin welcomed us. What I was most excited about in the early stages was observing how each teacher invested time to get to know our daughters. They were keen to know where my children were coming from, their past learning experiences, interests and what they were most passionate about in order to provide the best support possible. I watched as my children’ s learning experiences were curated to keep them engaged. This helped our daughters develop a sincere curiosity to go beyond the linear expectations of learning. I also appreciated the open communication and accessibility of the staff. I loved that lunch was like a family sitting around a table sharing conversation.

Yet, as a parent, I truly valued that every day our daughters would eagerly share what they did at school that day. I especially appreciated that Alcuin’s support extended beyond the classroom as they both pursued competitive extracurricular activities.

Most noticeable was their sense of confidence in what they could contribute as learners in a classroom setting as well as outside in the community. We are also grateful for the leadership opportunities they received that taught them new and valuable skills. Since entering university, I can clearly see how Alcuin provided our daughters with a superior advantage in learning confidence and skill. As a result, my children found the transition to the demands of university to be seamless. Yet, our journey with Alcuin continues as the community continues to be supportive and interested in their progress. We are still connected to the Alcuin community, and we love sharing about our time at Alcuin.

BARSAM Class of 2024

It is truly a pleasure to reflect on the positive impact this school has had on his growth and development. What I valued most about Barsam’s experience at Alcuin was his sense of happiness and comfort. Every morning, he eagerly looked forward to going to school, and he never felt tired or discouraged being there.

During his time at Alcuin, I witnessed remarkable growth in Barsam. He became more independent in his learning, developed excellent communication skills, and gained a deeper understanding of analytical thinking. The supportive and inspiring environment at Alcuin helped him thrive both academically and personally.

EMAAN Class of 2028
ADEN Class of 2031

Both our kids, Emaan and Aden, have been at Alcuin for over two years and it has been the best decision we have made for our children both intellectually and in their personal growth. With the student-to-teacher ratio being low, our children receive individualized attention, and they are encouraged to engage in critical thinking. The school is like one big family where the teachers, students and families alike, enjoy a strong sense of community. The parents are always kept informed and connected.

Since joining Alcuin College , we have noticed a significant change in so many areas for our kids, not only limited to consistently achieving better grades, but also their own personal growth including better communication skills, social development, increased intellectual curiosity, a new found appreciation for athletics and most importantly an ambitious outlook.

Prior to joining the school, we worked with many tutors after school hours to catch up on areas that required further understanding, however, at Alcuin, there hasn’t been a need to work with tutors as the teachers make every effort to ensure that the subject is clearly understood, and students are always encouraged to ask for help.

JAKUB Class of 2025

I remember when I first visited Alcuin College. It was spring, Jakub was 6 and Hana was just 3 months old. I was looking for a school that would be able to offer a more personalized approach for Jakub. I remember walking into the church building, wondering where all the desks and classrooms were. Instead, there were these pods, and a stage and a playground outside. My Eastern European brain, coming from an education system that was structured and rigid, where we had to sit at our desks with our hands behind backs, was blowing up. How can kids possibly learn like this?

And then I met Stella and Eddie. I found out they were accomplished educators, who had a vision of establishing a small school, where learning was tailored to the student. They described a flexible approach that helped each student develop at their own pace. I was hooked. What’s more, I trusted them.

And they’ve never broken that trust. This school has supported my son throughout his 12 years here. The education has been first-rate, but what I appreciate the most is how much Eddie, Stella, the teachers, and this school, cared for him.

I hope Alcuin continues their work of innovative education that champions each child. Thank you so much for 12 years of learning, care and community.
