Languages at Alcuin
Learning a second language earlier gives students more time to build fluency naturally, the same way they picked up their first language: through everyday exposure, repetition, and use, not memorization for a test.
French
Kindergarten to Grade 12
French instruction begins in Kindergarten and continues through graduation. Starting this early gives students a longer runway to develop real comfort with the language, well ahead of when most public school programs introduce it.
Spanish
Grades 5 to 12
Starting in Grade 5, students add Spanish alongside their continuing French studies. By Senior School, language study becomes elective, allowing students to focus on the courses that fit their interests and goals.
