Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Prepare lesson plans and course materials with clear objectives that meet or exceed B.C. curriculum standards
- Create an inquiry-based classroom environment where students’ ideas are central and knowledge and skills are deepened through compelling questions and exploration projects
- Adapt instructional materials for personalized learning
- Conduct formative and summative assessments of students, including report cards and progress reports
- Use appropriate technology, media and social media
- Communicate with families regularly and ongoingly
- Promote and maintain high standards of behaviour, respect and safety within the school community
- Participate in professional development conferences, faculty meetings and activities
